“It Wasn’t Suicide” (part 1/3) 4 April 2012

Greek pensioner Dimitris Christoula’s public suicide in Syntagma square triggered a protest of thousands against the savage austerity measures taken by an indifferent-to-its-people government, measures which have been systematically driving Greeks of all ages to suicide. Greece’s suicide rate has reached a pan-European record high, with experts attributing the rise to the country’s economic crisis and painful austerity measures.
